About us
We roast fair trade organic coffee. We provide the Greater Vancouver area with freshest roasted coffee beans. Pick them up at our storefront, or order online and have the coffee delivered right to your doorstep within 72 hours of us roasting your coffee. (The Roaster/warehouse is now closed on weekends and holidays. Orders placed on the weekend will not be processed till the following business day at which we are open. Local free shipping will be delivered within 3 business days excluding weekends.)
Republica Coffee Roasters is a locally owned and operated artisan coffee roasteria located on 9203 Glover Rd. Fort Langley, the historic birth place of BC.
Our company started in 2007 when a coffee-driven entrepreneur, decided that the lower mainland deserved to have a fresh, premium choice when it came to their favorite beverage.
Republica Coffee Roasters is dedicated to providing our customers with the freshest and finest artisan-roasted coffees available. We specialize in fine single estate coffees from around the world, roasted to best exemplify their flavour profiles. To ensure quality and freshness we roast fresh to order; each batch is meticulously cupped (tested) to ensure it meets our superior quality standards. To make sure you get to enjoy your coffee at its finest, we date stamp all of our coffees with the day on which it was roasted. Coffee is best if the roasted beans are consumed within 2 weeks of being roasted.
At Republica we are very aware of our community and environment. We are the only local coffee roaster that provides its coffees in paper bags lined with PLA, a biodegradable corn based liner, instead of the commonly seen plastic or plastic lined paper bags. Our bags are completely biodegradable once the tin tie on the top of the bag is removed.
Republica offers you only the best. We import only the finest Arabica green coffees available, roast them for the ultimate in flavour and aroma, then prepare blends that are uniquely our own. By roasting the beans ourselves, we can insure complete quality control and freshness. Our quality control begins with coffee bean selection. We sift through the hundreds of beans available, then decide which are good enough to put our name on. It’s simple by selecting only the finest green beans, we can assure you the best possible cup.
The Republica Story
It all started after tasting in the little town in La Sierra Madre, in the state of Chiapas, Mexico, the most amazing cup of coffee ever brewed. It is there where we encountered our destiny. The journey to understand what a superior coffee is was long, but well worth it. Ricardo’s cousin, whose family owned one of the oldest coffee roasting companies in North America, introduced ‘coffee’ to us and its many traditions. Through his guidance, expertise and education, we soon developed a new appreciation of the art of making the top coffee.
After sleeping in a hammock at the perfect height of the mountains, rain or shine, and living along side with the best coffee farmers in the continent, we learned the best way to grow the best coffee involving knowledge of when the seasons came and when the perfect cherry was ready to be collected. After days of hard work the coffee was dried and cleaned. Once the coffee was in the perfect state for roasting and then grounded manually we could then experience coffee tasting that was the most fulfilling and enlightening experience of the long journey.
Republica Coffee Roasters is founded on the traditions of a coffee oriented community, beginning with the family owned coffee farms – from seed to tree, to cherry, and eventually to the cup of coffee. After studying for two years and practicing everything to do with coffee, we soon realized there is a better coffee out there, and we feel we have delivered this with the freshest roasted beans. We also made one of Republica’s goal to source our product ethically as we experienced the hard work this farmers experience so we can enjoy this amazing coffee.
